It is possible that the person just has a habit of being rude to others.

Responding to rude people may add fuel to their negativity.

If you are unable to walk away, simply be firm and ask, “How can I help you?”
7. KEEP THE CONVERSATION SHORT
This applies when you are required to deal with the rude person regularly.
